Code of Conduct
  1. When acting on behalf of ALSP, Directors shall act:
    1. In good faith;
    2. With the care and ordinary prudent person in a like position would exercise under similar circumstances; and
    3. In a manner the Director reasonably believes to be in the best interests of the ALSP.
  2. Directors will work to further ALSP’s mission and to ensure that ALSP’s assets are used for lawful purposes consistent with the category of tax exemption granted to ALSP under the Internal Revenue Code.
  3. Directors shall endeavor to protect and enhance the resources of ALSP, including its investment assets, human capital, good name and goodwill.
  4. While representing ALSP to members and the public, Directors will conduct themselves in a manner so as to protect and enhance the good name and goodwill of ALSP.
  5. Directors shall treat members and staff of ALSP and members of the public in a manner which does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, creed, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability.
  6. Directors shall respect the contributions of others and their right to their opinions held in good faith, regardless of agreement with that opinion.
  7. Directors shall promote an atmosphere within ALSP that discourages harassment and respects professionalism.
  8. Directors shall assure themselves that the reporting systems within ALSP are designed to provide the Board with timely, accurate information, sufficient to allow the Board to reach informed judgment on matters before it.
